S1E9 “The One Where Underdog Gets Away”

苏珊，罗斯前妻卡萝尔的现伴侣，正在给没出生的小本读这本《海龟王亚特尔》（Yertle the Turtle by Dr. Seuss），这本书描述权力更迭中的一些不可抗力影响因素。龟龟们叠罗汉，池塘的王亚特尔坐在最顶端以便更好地观察他的领地。但是一只叫Mack的龟龟不小心打了个嗝，于是亚特尔被掀翻，而Mack成了新的王。本书出版时无疑是被当成关于阶级主义的书。而在《老友记》的此时，卡萝尔的演员由Anita Barone换成Jane Sibbett，提到这本《海龟王亚特尔》是有些幽默在身上的。

《冰血暴》第四季讲黑帮势力从犹太人变成意大利人又变成黑人控制，也用了Yertle the Turtle这本书中的隐喻。

S1E12 “The One With the Dozen Lasagnas”

罗斯准备当爹，准备了一兜子的书，符合他学者的身份。其中一本是《生育指南》（The Birth Book: Everything You Need to Know to Have a Safe and Satisfying Birth），由William Sears和Martha Sears两人合著。而生活中苏珊和卡萝尔将要共同养育小本，罗斯只算是半个参与者，与读这本生育书是类似状况。

S1 E24 “The One Where Rachel Finds Out”

瑞秋的生日，Joey送的礼物是一本书，“Oh, The Places You’ll Go!”，作者又是Dr. Seuss（前面的Yertle the Turtle）。Joey说这本书帮助他度过了许多艰难时刻。而这集瑞秋“要去的地方”又是哪里呢？机场！

S2 E3 “The One Where Heckles Dies”

My Big Book of Grievances by Mr. Heckles，不是正式出版物，是楼下哈克先生自己的记录，让钱德勒意识到自己正走在和哈克一样的路上，即将孤独终身。这集最大的悲伤是为几集以后六位好友最大的一次争吵打下伏笔，瑞秋、菲比和Joey抱怨自己钱赚得不够多，不能去做钱德勒、莫尼卡和罗斯想要做的事。

S2 E19 “The One Where Eddie Won’t Go”

Be Your Own Windkeeper，又是一本虚构的书，不过“做自己的风之女神，不让别人吸取你的内在能量”这个概念非常棒。瑞秋受这本书的影响，几集之后不但勇敢去当了明迪的伴娘，还在婚礼上再次当众演唱了“Capacabana”。

S3 E1 “The One With the Princess Leia Fantasy”

钱德勒为什么会读一本有关鱼的书，“Trout: An Illustrated History by James Prosek”？也许是Janice一而再再而三的返回到他的生活当中，而他就像鱼儿那样，上钩了~~

S3 E3 “The One With the Jam”

《百年孤独》来了，One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez。这集的莫尼卡通过做果酱来转移自己与理查分手后的失恋心情。罗斯教钱德勒如何在晚上用“抱一抱滚一滚”的方法换取独自睡觉的空间。钱德勒读这本《百年孤独》和前面哈克的“苦情书”是个对应，此时他还是不具备可约会性，大概率会死于孤独。

S3 E12 “The One With All the Jealousy”

“The Flowers Of Evil by Charles Baudelaire”，胡里奥从这本诗集里找到灵感为莫尼卡写了一首诗“空花瓶”（比喻极具讽刺性），莫尼卡又从胡里奥的诗里找到灵感，雇了四人乐队当众与胡里奥分手。

S3 E13 “The One Where Monica and Richard Are Just Friends”

Joey和瑞秋换书读：Joey去读瑞秋最爱的小妇人（Little Women by Louisa May Alcott），而瑞秋则读了Joey总在读的《闪灵》（The Shining by Stephen King）。就在几集前，Joey还鼓励瑞秋辞掉在中央公园咖啡馆的工作，get the fear，让自己无路可退，一心追求理想的职业。而get the fear，还有一个途径就是读斯蒂芬-金的书。

而对Joey来说，《小妇人》的结尾也变得难过起来，因为害怕只好把书放进冰箱。任何对女性心理和感受的深层探索都违背Joey的生活准则，因此也只能放到脑后，置之不理。

这集罗斯在读比较严肃的书，Race: How Blacks and Whites Think About the American Obsession by Studs Terkel，而最近本剧编剧在为《老友记》人种不够多样化而道歉，感慨。

S3 E14 “The One With Phoebe’s Ex-Partner”

整集罗斯都像个白痴，吃没来由的飞醋，非要和瑞秋一起去听时尚讲座，结果中途睡着。

早在两人在床上商量此事时，就已经被定了性——罗斯此时读的是陀斯妥耶夫斯基的《白痴》。

S3 E22 “The One With the Screamer”

当瑞秋听说罗斯有了新约会对象，立刻自己也要找一个，难怪她正在看How Stella Got Her Groove Back by Terry McMillan，一本有关重燃爱火的书。

与此同时，钱德勒在读The Bear Went Over the Mountain by William Kotzwinkle，一个小孩子困在大人身体里，正是钱德勒本人的写照。

S3 E25 “The One at the Beach”

瑞秋在读的是The Last Thing He Wanted by Joan Didion，同时力劝罗斯的新女友邦妮剃了光头，是罗斯最不想要的（the last thing he wanted）。

S4 E1 “The One With the Jellyfish”

如果哈克的《苦情书》能上榜，那么瑞秋写给罗斯的18页正反面的信也可以，起个名字就叫“Does It?”。

S4 E3 “The One With the Cuffs”

Joey买了百科全书V的部分。但他仍不知道“The Velveteen Rabbit”的重要意义，三集之后新女友的故事里会有这个兔子的原版书；第八季万圣节钱德勒打扮成了粉兔子，其实他想要的是棕色和黄色的The Velveteen Rabbit。

S4 E5 “The One With Joey’s New Girlfriend”

瑞秋在读反乌托邦小说“Anthem” by Ayn Rand，罗斯拿着写有新女友电话号码的纸巾在她面前炫耀，这本书让瑞秋显得很成熟，不屑于玩罗斯的小游戏。但后来证明她还是很在意，也就是说书并没有读进去。

S4 E6 “The One With The Dirty Girl”

Joey新女友Kathy的生日，钱德勒买来了她最喜欢的书“The Velveteen Rabbit”的早期珍贵版本。这本书讲玩具棉绒兔子真心感谢一个小男孩的爱，Kathy（兔子）感谢Joey（小男孩），让钱德勒来到自己身边。

S4 E13 “The One With Rachel’s Crush”

菲比决定为Frank和Alice代孕后，读的是孕期管理书“What to Expect When You’re Expecting” by Heidi Murkoff（但这本书居然没告诉她怀孕需要吃肉！）。后来第八季瑞秋怀孕，Joey为了她也读了这本书。

S4 E15 “The One With All the Rugby”

瑞秋和莫尼卡输了公寓，莫尼卡对Joey公寓里的一个开关很好奇，不知道是控制什么的。于是有一天，瑞秋回到家发现这个正在读“脑子上有个洞”的女人给这间房子开了至少十个洞。

S4 E18 “The One With Rachel’s New Dress”

菲比给三胞胎命名时用到了“A Concise Dictionary of First Names” by Patrick Hanks，高度怀疑菲比的另一个名字Regina Phalange也出版这本字典，几集之后首次出现。

S4 E21 “The One With the Invitation”

罗斯和Emily要在伦敦举办婚礼，只有钱德勒在研究旅游攻略，“Access London” by Richard Saul Wurman，结果钱德勒不仅Access London，还Access Monica了。

S5 E7 “The One Where Ross Moves In”

整集都是瑞秋对“野人”Yeti Danny有意思，然后觉得对方也对自己有意思，忽视什么的都是吸引她的策略。所以开场不久莫尼卡在读的书是“Practical Intuition in Love” by Laura Day。

S5 E9 “The One With Ross’s Sandwich”

菲比和瑞秋上了文学课，读到两本勃朗特，《呼啸山庄》（Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë）和《简-爱》（Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronté），瑞秋总是剽窃菲比的观点，结果被整蛊。《呼啸山庄》有关破坏性的妒嫉和复仇，《简爱》有关人物的进化，也适合本集的故事线。尤其是罗斯因为一个三明治在办公室大为光火。

S5 E17 “The One With Rachel’s Inadvertent Kiss”

莫尼卡在自己的公寓读的是《杀死一只知更鸟》（To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee），四集后菲比和警察男友Gary分手，原因就是他射杀了一只鸟。

S5 E22 “The One With Joey’s Big Break”

罗斯在读的《炼金术士》（”The Alchemist“ by Paulo Coelho）是一本关于自我发现的书，强调追随自己的梦想。于是下一集在拉斯维加斯，喝醉了的罗斯和瑞秋结了婚，而且罗斯在很长时间内都擅自拒绝使婚姻无效。

S6 E2 “The One Where Ross Hugs Rachel”

又是”脑子里有个洞“（Like a Hole in the Head by Jen Banbury）这本书，上次是第四季两人在游戏里输了公寓后莫尼卡在读，这次是瑞秋读，而莫尼卡马上就要告诉她因为与钱德勒开始同居她必须要搬出去。瑞秋即将再次失去她的这间公寓。

S6 E14 “The One Where Chandler Can’t Cry”

这集有《心灵鸡汤》（Chicken Soup for the Soul by Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen, and Amy Newmark）。

S7 E15 “The One With Joey’s New Brain”

为什么罗斯会读一本关于贝多芬的书（Beethoven’s Hair: An Extraordinary Historical Odyssey and a Scientific Mystery Solved by Russell Martin）？可能是因为他正在练习苏格兰风笛并准备在钱莫婚礼上表演吧。

S8 E11 “The One With the Creepy Holiday Card”

Will the Circle Be Unbroken? Reflections on Death, Rebirth, and Hunger for a Faith by Studs Terkel

罗斯超喜欢这个作者。圣诞季Mona要和他共寄贺卡时他正在看这本书，然后他马上意识到了这段感情又是错误。罗斯的感情生活就是打不破的循环。

So I would like to raise my glass... to Monica and Chandler... and the beautiful adventure they are about to embark upon together. I can think of no two people better prepared for the journey.”

莫妮卡的订婚夜，大家一起庆祝。

得知此事，众人都大吃一惊；莫妮卡谴责瑞秋抢了她的风头。

菲比请求在婚礼上献歌，并且要新人付她押金，以免他们反悔。

乔伊准备参加一个试镜，演19岁少年。

菲比偷吃乔伊的糖果。

钱德在床上有心无力。

The gang celebrates Monica's engagement night.

Rachel, feeling lonely, kisses Ross (and considers doing more).

Everyone thinks it's a big deal and Monica accuses Rachel of stealing her thunder.

Phoebe asks if she can play at the wedding, and won't let up(v.停止 中止) until she's convinced they'll really let her.

Joey prepares to audition to play the part of a 19-year-old.

Phoebe eats Joey's candy bar.

Chandler is unable to perform(v.完成任务) in the bedroom.

Ross: I found a note on my door, "Come to Monica’s quick, bring champagne and a Three Musketeers bar."

Joey: (grabbing the candy bar) Yeah I’ll take that.

Ross: Oh, I thought it was just a kid yelling, "I’m gay! I’m gay!"

Rachel：No, that guy moved.

Ross: Can I bring her in?

Phoebe: Oh no, let her stay out there. It’s sweet.

[Cut to Monica.]

Monica: I’m getting married!!!! I’m gonna be a bride!!!! (Someone else yells at her.) No, I will not shut up because I’m engaged! (He yells again.) Ohh, big talk! Huh, why don’t you come over here and say that to me?! Huh, buddy?! Yeah, my fiance will kick your ass! (Chandler starts to look worried.) Come on, apartment 20! Apartment 20!

Okay, umm, I just wanna say that…I love you guys so-so much and-and thank you for being here on my special night. (Chandler clears his throat.) Our special night. I mean it just wouldn’t be my—our-our night, if you all weren’t here to celebrate with me—us—Damnit!

Chandler: It’s okay, I want this to be your night too. (Raises his class.) To Monica.

Monica: Awww, come on—wait—stop it. Okay, to Monica.

Chandler: To Monica!

(They all say to Monica, clink their glasses, and drink.)

Joey: But I-I-I can’t stay too long, I gotta get up early for a commercial audition tomorrow and I gotta look good. I’m supposed to be playing a 19-year-old. (Everyone stops in their tracks upon hearing this.) What?

Chandler: So when you said, "Get up early," did you mean 1986?

Joey: You guys don’t think I look 19?

(A brief silence ensues.)

Phoebe: Oh, 19! We thought you said 90!

(They all politely laugh and stop just as quickly.)

Monica: Okay everybody, let’s go! Let’s go!

Rachel: Okay.

Chandler: Okay.

(They all leave and Joey comes back in quickly.)

Joey: (To Phoebe) Hey, is uh the rest of my candy bar around here?

Phoebe: Oh honey no, you ate it all.

Joey: I was afraid of that.

(Walks out and after he closes the door Phoebe turns around and takes a bite out of what is left of his candy bar.)

[Scene: Monica and Chandler’s bedroom, they’re getting ready.]

Monica: (looking at her hand) Y’know what shoes would look great with this ring? Diamond shoes! (Sees Chandler sitting on the bed.) You’re not getting dressed. (Chandler quietly folds over the comforter on the bed making a spot for her.)

Rachel: I don’t know, y’know? I feel a little umm… No, y’know what? Nevermind, I’m gonna be fine.

Chandler: Oh, don’t worry about it I mean you probably were tired, you had a lot of champagne, it happens to everybody.

[Rachel exits into the hallway just as Ross is coming up the stairs.]

Ross: Hey!

Rachel: Hi!

Ross: Wow! Happy Monica’s night!

Rachel: Well thank you, you too.

Ross: Thanks.

Rachel: Hey, do you believe this? Do you believe they are actually getting married?

Ross: Well sure. But I get married all the time so…

Rachel: Ohh…

Ross: You okay?

Rachel: Yeah, I guess. I-I… I mean, do-do you think we’re ever gonna have that?

Ross: You mean, we—you and me?

Rachel: Oh no-no-no-no-no, no, no! We, you with someone and me with someone.

Ross: Oh good, you scared me for a minute.

Rachel: Shake it off.

Ross: I mean—no, it’s just‘cause, it’s just ’cause you and I were like a nightmare. (Screams.) No, but there was some good times.

剧情开始乏味很多，不过生活就是这样的，时而精彩纷呈，时而平凡无趣。他们6个人的故事讲了6季之后，的确没什么好讲的，从24岁到30岁，人生大体上开始趋于稳定，稳定的背后就是日复一日

6位主角的性格基本也都定型了，也不用极具戏剧冲突的故事来呈现性格。戏剧人物的刻画一旦完成，故事剧情如果不太行，很容易人设崩塌，后面几季好几个角色真的没好好弄

瑞秋的中短发不太好看

大伙都苍老了许多，就罗斯和菲比保养得最好，钱德勒因为吃药原因变胖好多，太可惜了

钱德勒和莫妮卡终于修成正果了，一个害怕结婚的人可以为了你变得勇敢，这才是爱情吧。原本我是不敢的，有你后，我拥有更多勇气面对生活

婚姻再隆重，也只是一场盛大的仪式，重要的是两个人的婚姻

钱德勒和Joey的友情也好好，钱德勒跟莫妮卡聊婚后规划的时候，竟然还安排了好兄弟Joey的住处

最后留了瑞秋验孕棒这条线，我真的不懂为什么留这种悬念，真的很崩人设和CP。CM稳定了，就开始作妖搞瑞秋，真的没必要

这一季的重点主要是CM的婚礼筹备，钱德勒真的是很棒的伴侣，他害怕做承诺，不轻易承诺，但每一个决定都深思熟虑，绝不敷衍

其他角色都很日常流水账，RR恋原以为有所起色，除了第一集被CM求婚给影响外，后面并没有进展，最后一集让瑞秋莫名其妙怀了孕。Joey演戏工作中有了点起色，终于接到一些不错的演员工作了；菲比真的很暖心，帮助那个想寻死的经理，她另类又温柔，真的很是一个精灵girl
