冤家成双对第一季

I was just having no clue how to begin with my recommendation of Coupling, when suddenly I got a question: how to say 打吊瓶? I checked with Genius Kane, who initiated the recommendation and she didn’t have the answer, but, she recoiled with a stunning question: “coupling里没有？”

 

Haha! She has been meeting Coupling, the most classic drama I have ever seen for only 2 days! But she already has got such a response! What? A life encyclopaedia? Exactly! The first reason I recommend this drama to you, is its real-life focusing-faith. Every site you come across in this drama is as real as you can imagine- of course excluding those ancient and dreamy scenes out of dramatic needs.

 

But that is far from the main reason I want everybody interested in the life in UK to see it. The main reason, is its unique sense of humour! So unique that it is even a bit hard to appreciate it at first; so unique that it always goes to extreme to disclose the purest emotion of human being; so unique that you can easily condone any disinclination caused by those unusual sex jokes simply because you would already have been amusedly out of breath! It is truly so unique that you can take a real deep look at this wonderful people, with even a few smart choices of words.

 

The whole drama is a piece of art, and the creator Steven Moffat based the characters of Steve and Susan on himself and his wife (producer Sue Vertue), as he explains: "I have described the series as being 'my life as told by a drunk'. Like most writers, I write about what has happened to me as that involves the minimum amount of research. As it happens, Sue and I are married; so I imagined a scenario about what would have happened if we had met ten years earlier, and took it from there!"

 

I could not come up with any better descriptions of this TV series, but one thing is what at least I can assure you, this Steven, he is never exhausted in brooding weird, bizarre, peculiar, ludicrous but also tremendously entertaining and educational thoughts and ways of telling you so!

 

What is the definition of Classic? My version is something old but never out-of-dated, and whenever you review it, you can still gain something new and novel and cutting edge from it, like the Bible, like New Concept English~, like, “Apparently”, the COUPLING!

 

Rob Belcher's review has made a superb epitome of this drama, he wrote: "this show will speak to anyone who's ever dated, been in a relationship, or just noticed that men and women are different creatures."

 

I sincerely wish a perpetual life of Steven Moffat! I recommend this Sexy fairy tale weaved by 6 thirtysomething lovely actors to you, you would never feel losing your capital if you try to memorize every detail in it, trust me!

       顺着大大的喜剧标签，我点进了这部英剧。专属的英式幽默，揭示了腐国人生活中都是段子手的真相，能说会道，开（猥）放（琐）程度丝毫不逊色于美国。
       一共六集的剧情，大多数情况下围绕“性”展开，男人与女人对于这个话题的不同认知。我承认不太喜欢这种过分露骨的探讨，中国人保守思想使然，同时茶余饭后的谈资已被工作学习、娱乐八卦湮没。比如近期的柯震东、房祖名吸毒事件，霸占头条迟迟不肯退居二线，余热一波波蔓延着水深火热的娱乐圈，引无数网友瞠目结舌。中华民族不可能是一个整天把“性”挂在嘴边的民族，我们有自己的信仰，庸俗到极致只会引领这个民族走向衰亡，自认为Freud的“性本论”有待商榷。
       我特别喜欢它的开头，非常巧妙，两个场景的拼接很容易让人误以为是他们一男一女在互通电话，实际上却是和各自的伴侣约会碰头。别出心裁的处理给了我追剧的动力和信心。随后，就是人物的自由重组，Susan和Patrick的分手，Steve和Jane的分手，为他们两人在一起创造了契机，于是Susan和Steve成了名正言顺的男女朋友。除此之外，还有Steve的好基友Jeff，Susan的好闺蜜Sally，三男三女一台戏，开启了一幕生活闹剧。
       谈不上对里面的哪个人物最有好感，都just so so吧。Susan还算正常，一般的小女人，是非分明，可为嘛每次躺枪的都是她。一次是在餐馆里袒胸露乳，另一次就是ML的视频供大家欣赏（后来证明那盘不是她的录像带），还有最后脱了衣服白白给Jeff看去了。Steve看上去挺老实一人，内心还是比较好色猥琐，男人嘛，你懂的。每次想和Jane说分手，都会被她的火辣身材征服，嘴边的话活生生给咽了下去。Jane的人设貌似是个双性恋，身材倍儿棒，一度对Steve念念不忘，后来忙着去Patrick那投怀送抱。Patrick堪称情场老手，上过女人的录像带都能堆满一柜子，收藏这个是赤果果的炫耀嘛，变态心理啊。Sally对Patrick很有好感，贪图他的床上功夫吧，害怕衰老，有一套属于自己的永葆青春的理论。至于Jeff，总喜欢给兄弟支招，出发点是好的，可没有实战经验的他只能算纸上谈兵。可惜的是里面还错过了一段异国恋情啊，语言不通真是罪过。
       我最喜欢的一集是关于笑点膨胀理论的，自己取的名字够有才吧。默哀的时候，是一个逐渐积累笑点的过程，事先声明这不是对死者的不尊重，只是情非得已迫于无奈。当笑点达到杯子的顶峰，一切就如火山爆发势不可挡，喷涌而出，为时已晚。这个跟现实生活比较贴近，当时笑尿的节奏。
       有人说冤家成双对是英国版的老友记，会不会让人误会美国和英国的开放程度呢？

susan & steve ：normal
susan和steve代表普通人，普通的女人和普通的男人，外表出色，思想开放，行为正常（……）作为普通女性的代表，susan集金发碧眼和高度组织性于一体，是对blonde一词的翻案～steve则集男人和男孩于一身，在可容忍范围内最大限度体现了男人的缺点和男孩的可爱，并随时随地陷入需要susan拯救的境地，因此促成了这一couple之间强烈的化学效应。
sally & jeff ：fear
sally和jeff的角色代表人类的恐惧感。这两个人随时都处于不安全的状态。sally作为女性的代表，恐惧的对象是衰老，青春不再→没有爱情→孤独一生etc。由于她的职业是美容师，所以更加造成了恶性循环。jeff作为男性的代表，恐惧的对象是女人（及一切雌性生物）。尽管很可笑，jeff是唯一对男女之间差异有清楚认知的人，但是这种认知（很不幸的）加深了他的恐惧。
jane & patrick ：confidence
jane和patrick的角色代表人类的另一个极端：完全的自信。jane作为女性的代表，自信的根源是极度的自卑，强烈地希望引起别人的注意。纵然有优秀的外表一流的身材仍然找不到适合男人的不安全感，拒绝承认的孤独感，需要夸张的行动来掩饰，并且完全意识不到这种掩饰。patrick作为男性的代表，自信的根源是拒绝思考，拒绝深刻，自我中心，直线式思维。换句话说，无知者无畏，浅薄者自信。
coupling ：man & woman
coupling所要表现的是男人和女人在思想和行为方式上的差异，同一种想法导致的不同行为，或者同一种行为背后的不同想法。每一种独特的人格经过夸张后表现出来的可爱和可笑的地方，以及应用在男和女这两种性别上的微妙差异。

爱这个剧，爱到不能自已，笑得死去活来，哭得控制不住——没错，我是每次看到最后都会哭。
因此把结束之后的故事也贴出来。

"Sally said yes to Patrick, they got married and are very happy... especially as Sally beat Susan to the altar, and finally did something first. Patrick is now a completely devoted husband, who lives in total denial that he was anything other an upstanding member of the community. Or possibly he's actually forgotten. He doesn't like remembering things because it's a bit like thinking.
Sally答应了Patrick的求婚，他们结婚了并幸福快乐地生活在一起……只不过Sally打败了Susan第一个踏入了围城，总算也抢了一回先～Patrick现在是超级好丈夫，认为自己除了社区先进典型以外不存在其他身份。换句话说，他被遗忘了。他不怎么喜欢回忆，因为他觉得回忆和思考差不多。

Jane and Oliver never actually did have sex, but they did become very good friends. They often rejoice together that their friendship is uncomplicated by any kind of sexual attraction - but they both get murderously jealous when the other is dating. Jane has a job at Oliver's science fiction book shop now - and since Oliver has that one moment of Naked Jane burnt on the inside of his eyelids, he now loses the place in one in every three sentences. People who know them well think something's gotta give - and they're right. Especially as Jane comes to work in a metal bikini.

Steve and Susan have two children now, and have recently completed work on a sitcom about their early lives together. They're developing a new television project, but it keeps getting delayed as he insists on writing episodes of some old kids show they recently pulled out of mothballs. She gets very cross about this, and if he says "Yeah but check out the season poll!" one more time, he will not live to write another word.
Steve和Susan现在已经有了两个小孩，并且刚完成了一部情景喜剧，改编自他们早年的生活。他们开始着手一个新的电视剧，但是老是不停的延期，因为Steve老是坚持要把压箱底的陈年儿童剧拿出来现世。Susan对此十分愤怒，而如果Steve再对她说一次“你先看看观众投票啊”，他就活不到写下一个字了。

Jeff is still abroad. He lives a life of complete peace and serenity now, having taken the precaution of not learning a word of the local language and therefore protecting himself from the consequences of his own special brand of communication. If any English speakers turn up, he pretends he only speaks Hebrew. He is, at this very moment, staring out to sea, and sighing happily every thirty-eight seconds.
Jeff还在国外，过着平静的生活。他拒绝学习当地语言，以便远离“Jeff式谈话”带来的后果。如果有说英语的人出现，他就假装只会说希伯来语。他现在正望着窗外的大海，每隔38秒钟就快乐地叹一口气。

What he doesn't know, of course, is that even now a beautiful Israeli girl he once met in a bar, is heading towards his apartment, having been directed to the only Hebrew speaker on the island. What he also doesn't know is that she is being driven by a young ex-pat English woman, who is still grieving the loss of a charming, one-legged Welshman she once met on a train. And he cannot possibly suspect that (owing to a laundry mix-up, and a stag party the previous night in the same block) he is wearing heat-dissolving trunks.

当然他不知道的是，现在正有一个美丽的以色列女孩——他曾经在一间酒吧碰到过的——正前往他的公寓寻找传说中“岛上唯一说希伯来语的人”。他更加不会知道的是，她的司机是一位年轻英国女孩，时刻怀念着她曾经在火车上遇到的迷人的单腿威尔士情人……总之，他也决不会想到，因为洗衣房混乱以及昨天晚上本楼的大老爷们聚会，他现在穿着一条缩水的大裤衩。
当门铃响起的时候……我们还是不要揭开面纱了～

Coupling的四季我都看完了，哈其实是看了好几遍。觉得最出彩的地方在于它的台词很有意思；还有最喜欢的其实是Jeff,可惜第四季他没有出演。再有就是英式对白的幽默，看第一遍有时候不一定立刻就反应过来。。总之好看就是了。。
